One of the most universal experiences I heard in my cardiology practice was the frustration of lying down at night and not being able to sleep because of a racing heart. Had the same problem for a while. Now it got worse - did not sleep all night yesterday. Just at the moment of falling a sleep the crazy heart racing starts and wakes me up. My heart rate is also very slow though . My cardiologist did not find anything wrong. I am going to ask him to put me on roundaclock portable heart monitor.
