Waking up with heart racing could be from a tachycardia, or arrhythmia, often known as SVT. A 24 hour holter monitor could get to the bottom of this. Sometimes this situation is caused by sleep apnea. Respiration stops during sleep, setting off the symptoms of shakiness and tachycardia, or even SVT.
